 Farming is a complex business.

There’s cost control, budgets, return on investment, risk management, succession, occupation health and safety, compliance, record keeping – the jobs are endless – and that’s before you even venture outside.

Juggling all these responsibilities is time consuming and often takes away from higher-value farm work, or jobs which are simply more enjoyable. Afterall, who becomes a farmer because they like paperwork?

On a busy farm, a coach is invaluable. Especially if they have the business skills and qualifications backed-up by the knowledge and understanding that comes with working on-farm.

With more than 10 years’ experience in the dairy industry, starting as a low percentage sharefarmer and growing to farm ownership, I know it’s vital to get the little things right.
